Tornadrone & SkyRunners

Main content start

Tornadrone

Meteorology has progressed greatly over the past few years, yet much remains unknown about the center of a tornado. Currently, there is no ideal device to collect data within a tornado; balloons, ‘turtles,’ and Doppler radars can’t collect all the necessary data to uncover the mystery of the eye. That’s where the Tornadrone comes into play! We aim to create a high-speed drone to fly in and follow the center of a tornado to gather valuable information on humidity, wind speed, temperature, and more!

Delivery Drone (SkyRunners)

SkyRunners is a project between Stanford Flight Club and Stanford Robotics Club to develop a food delivery drone. Designed by the project members, the drone will be a fixed-wing VTOL configuration and deliver packages autonomously. If you're looking for a project with real-world UAV application (ex: Wing, Zipline), then SkyRunners is for you!
